Sheng Jiang Actions and Indications
- Expel exterior wind cold (induce sweat to expel exterior wind-cold; in combination with da zao to harmonize ying and wei qi for wind-cold deficient type; very mild function for mild conditions or as supplemental herb)
- Warms middle jiao; Stops vomiting (for nausea and vomit due to cold in Stomach; in combination to harmonize middle jiao or to treat morning sickness; used to prevent seafood poisoning)
- Reduces Toxicity of other herbs (Resolves toxicity: Ban Xia and Tian Nan Xing should be processed with sheng jiang to reduce unwanted side effects)
- Warms LU; Disperses cold; stops cough (very mild function, needs to be in combination; cough due to wind-cold or chronic cough with phlegm)
- Alternate Forms:
