The Mu Cows who saw Dan pee on the forest fire
One hot summer day the Moo cows became hot
blooded when they saw Dan pee on the forest
fire. They ran in circles and caused
a traffic jam (stampede), but eventually they
slowed down due to feeling deficient from the heat.
Dan should have known better than to pee next to pregnant cows (cc:
pregnancy) or those with (cc: cold disorders
or excessive menses not caused by heat)

(heat entering Ying or blood level in warm-febrile diseases: epistaxis,
hematemesis, hemoptysis; subcutaneous bleeding; also for frequent profuse
menstrual bleeding from blood heat, especially with clots)
- Clears deficient heat (yin deficienct heat after
warm-febrile disease, steaming bone disorders: most suitable in absence
of sweating)
- Invigorates the blood, dispels stasis (abdominal
masses, lumps, blood stasis with amenorrhea; traumatic injury; carbuncles;
intestinal abccesses)
- Clears LV fire (irritability; headache; eye pain;
moderns use for hypertension)

Special Notes:
- Hypertension: According to one study 30-45g of Mu Dan Pi decoction
was given in three equally divided doses for 5 days. The results were
markedly effective to lower blood pressure in 31 patients.
