      Chi Shi Zhi Actions and Indications
  • Binds Large Intestine; stops diarrhea (chronic diarrhea due to cold or chronic dysenteric disorders with mucous and blood in stool)
  • Contains blood; stops bleeding (uterine bleeding, excessive menstruation, vaginal discharge, blood in stool, bleeding in prolapsed rectum due to cold from lower liao deficiency; also used topically for traumatic bleeding)
  • Promotes healing of wounds (ground and applied topically for chronic non-healing ulcers and for weeping damp sores)

    Special Notes:
  • Chi Shi Zhi contains a large amount of aluminum silicate. After ingestion it binds to and eliminates various substances such as phosphorous, mercury, and bacterial endotoxins. Chi Shi Zhi is used as an antidote to treat accidental ingestion of poison.
